The communal association “NUEVAS RAICES” will be starting its fifth cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Los Andes centre. It is made up of ten members and is run by a board of directors of which Claudina is the President. The businesses which the members of the communal association run are varied and among them are: grocery shop, knitting and sales of awayos and taris, selling blankets, selling food, selling herbs, sewing underskirts, sewing guitar covers and selling bedspreads.

The loan they will take out will benefit small businesswomen of which Claudina is a member. She says she joined Pro Mujer five years ago after being invited by a promoter from the institution who went to visit her in her home. Currently she runs a corner shop and she says she learnt the business on her own initiative with a small sum of capital which she had.

The loan she will take out is to increase capital to buy tinned goods, rice and sugar which she will buy from the wholesale stores in the city of El Alto and will later sell in her shop. This kind of work allows her to generate income to maintain her family, since she is married and has a son.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says she likes the loans and working as a group.

La A.C. “NUEVAS RAICES” iniciará el quinto ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Los Andes, está compuesta por diez integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Claudina es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: tienda de abarrotes, tejido y venta de awayos y taris, venta de mantas, venta de comida, venta de hiervas, costura de enaguas, costura de fundas de guitarra, venta de colchas.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Claudina es integrante, ella indica que hace cinco años que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por la invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a visitarle a su domicilio. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de tienda de barrio; da a conocer que este negocio lo aprendió por iniciativa propia con un pequeño capital que tenía.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de enlatados, arroz, azúcar) que adquirirá de las tiendas mayoristas de la ciudad de El Alto y posteriormente lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener a su familia, ya que ella es casada y tiene un hijo.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta el crédito y el trabajo en grupo.
