Touch is 48 years old and a rural villager residing in Trang district of Takeo Province. She has five children, two of whom are students. To overcome the daily financial burden in the family, she farms rice while her husband is a teacher. Touch and her husband are able to earn about US$12 per day to support her family.

Touch has been with VisionFund for the past three cycles and she has completely repaid back with success. The subsequent loans have enabled her to maintain her living conditions. She is now applying for a loan to pay the tuition fees for her daughter's four-year university bachelor's degree. She hopes that this loan will provide financial support for her daughter, so she can focus on her studying and obtain a good job after the graduation.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
