Residing in Battambang province, Rith is a local farmer who grows maize and rice as the main source of income to support her five children.
She has engaged in her current business for four years. Her prior loan was the first microloan for Rith with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). Rith repaid her past loan with success, and it enabled her to stabilize her living condition.
She is applying for a new loan to buy insecticide for her crop and to pay plowing fees.
She hopes that she can gain a triple yield from her crop so she can make more income.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
