Claudia Patricia
Claudia is 37 years old and has a small business in the centre of Barranquilla. There she has been selling clothes, phone accessories, and DIY products for seven years. After being displaced from her town of birth, Claudia came to this city many years ago and settled in an area near the city market. She met her husband there. Caludia was given support by the Colombian government and started her own business, Claudia's determination and dedication quckly allowed her to progress. She now has two stalls in the city market, where she sells for cash and on credit every day. She buys from distributors who offer her good prices. Claudia sells to her main customers, street vendors, and to passers-by, who are attracted by the stalls. Claudia has had two loans from the "Fundación Mario Santo Domingo". With these she has been able to expand her business, and have a greater amount of stock, giving her the chance to offer more choice to her customers. Claudia's biggest challenge is the competition but, little by little, Claudia's experience has helped her to win over customers from her competitors. Claudia is applying for a Kiva, which she will use to buy clothes, women's accessories, DIY products, and toys. Christmas is approaching and so she will be able to sell this kind of stock and make her investment a success.

Claudia de 37 años de edad, tiene un pequeño negocio en el centro de Barranquilla, en el que comercializa ropa, accesorios para celulares y productos de ferretería, desde hace 7 años. Claudia llegó a esa ciudad hace muchos años, como producto del desplazamiento de su ciudad natal y se ubicó en un barrio cerca al mercado de la ciudad; allí conoció a su actual esposo y también adquirió recursos del estado nacional de Colombia, inició su negocio comercial. Su empeño y dedicación, muy pronto permitió que avanzara cada vez mas; hoy tiene dos puestos comerciales en el mercado de la ciudad, donde vende de contado y a crédito, con una frecuencia diaria, comprándole a proveedores, que le ofrecen buenos precios, para distribuir artículos a sus principales clientes, que son vendedores ambulantes y compradores ocasionales, a quienes llama su atención con cada oferta. En la actualidad Claudia ha recibido 2 financiamientos de la Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, con los que ha logrado incrementar su negocio, pues teniendo un mayor inventario, genera importantes opciones de compra por parte de sus clientes. Su mayor desafío es la competencia en el sector, pero ella poco a poco recurre a su experiencia, para provechar el volumen de personas que le compran a los competidores. En la actualidad está aplicando aun credikiva, mediante el cual comprará ropa, accesorios femeninos, productos de ferretería y juguetes, pues se acercan las navidades, época que impulsa la venta de este tipo de mercancía y hacen de su credikiva una inversión exitosa.
