Bendera is the secretary of the Ishara group. She is an experienced entrepreneur, 48 years old, and a mother of eight children, who all go to school. Her husband is a merchant of various goods. Bendera is also a merchant of, [among other things], manufactured goods. She sells her goods in a public sales area and sometimes from her home. She started this business with a loan from Hekima more than three years ago.
Bendera has already completed many small projects for her family because of the earnings from this business.
This new loan will allow her to increase her stock by buying two drums of cooking oil, one box of salt, one sac of sugar, two boxes of canned tomatoes, six bottles of mayonnaise, 12 cans of sardines, one box of body lotion, six pairs of shoes, one carton of soap, etc.
Overdue payments and purchases on credit are challenges to the development of her business.
Bendera would like to educate her children, expand her business, and build a nice house with durable materials.
Finally, Bendera would like to strongly thank Hekima for their dedicated support to small-scale entrepreneurs during this critical time of war.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
