The BENKADI group consists of five married women who average 36 years of age and four children each. They live in extended traditional families in the district of NIEBALA, city of Bougouni. They know one another as neighbors and friends, and through their business activities. They joined the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution to strengthen their working capital and better conduct their activities. This is their 2nd loan cycle with the MFI. The first loan was correctly repaid.

These women sell condiments. BALAKISSA, in the center of the photo, plans to use her loan to buy 2 cartons of various bouillon cubes from the Bamako wholesalers. She conducts her sales at retail, from her home and at the market, cash or credit, to a clientele consisting essentially of women.

She expects to earn an average monthly profit of 15,000FCFA, which she will use to repay her loan and to invest in her activity.
Le groupe BENKADI est constitué de 5 femmes toutes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de36 ans et 4 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles traditionnelles élargies dans le quartier NIEBALA de la ville de Bougouni.
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de voisinage, d’amitié et de commerce. Pour renforcer leur capacité financière afin de mieux faire leur commerce, elles ont adhéré à l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso avec laquelle elles sont à leur 2éme prêt. Le précédent prêt à été correctement remboursé. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de condiments à l’image de BALAKISSA qui est la femme du milieu dans la photo. Elle compte acheter avec son prêt, 2 cartons de cubes de diverses qualités avec les grossistes de Bamako. Elle effectue ses ventes au marché et à domicile, en détail au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle composée essentiellement de femmes.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 15.000FCFA qui sera investi dans les activités et rembourser le prêt.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
