Kanini is a hardworking and enterprising woman who is married with two school-going children. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for the family and school fees.
For the past six years, she has practiced farming; growing various crops such as vegetables and tomatoes. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business.

About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
