Chhay just paid off the previous loan she took for farming cassavas on around one and a half hectare of land. It was a big help, and allowed her to have a stable income to provide for her family members. In the same manner, she aims to have this loan to invest in planting cassavas again in this coming season.
She will pay laborers for weeding her plantation, and buy fertilizers for her crop. HKL is a significant partner in providing her loans to further develop her farming business, as well as improving her family’s quality of life.
Chhay will receive it as her sixth loan with HKL and her second with Kiva.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
