Gisela
Gisela is 35 years old. She lives with her 7 year old son in a municipality close to the city of Barranquilla. She has been operating a business for 10 years, in order to generate income and support her household. The idea of a business originated from her sister and she helped Gisela get her first seed money to buy woman's accessories and sell them to whoever wanted them with the goal of making some profit.

Her sales are on credit and she buys in cash from suppliers who offer the best price. Gisela dreams of owning her own house to provide more well-being for her son and this is what drives her daily work. The goods she offers are biscuits, over the counter medicine, thread, casual clothes, sports clothing, accessories and stuffed toys.

For Gisela her major obstacle is to find support for her business. This is why she is applying for a loan from Kiva. This is her first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use it to buy jeans and blouses for her clients to wear in the coming festive season. It is a busy time for business which Gisela wants to take full advantage of. She wants this loan from Kiva to be a success.
