Felomina is married to a retired soldier who is working now on their own farm to earn a living. For more than ten years, she helped him in order to expand and improve the farm to be able to provide for the needs of her only child. She borrowed from GDMPC micro-credit to purchase an organic fertilizer for the farm. She planned with her husband to cultivate all the vacant lot and plant bananas for sale. She hopes to improve the general living of the family in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
