Sreymao, 41, lives with her common-law husband and has an adult child. Together they have been working as farmers for more than 20 years on their own farm, which they inherited from their parents after their marriage. They currently live and raise their child in a rural village of Prey Chhor district, where they learned everything related to agriculture, especially growing rice and raising poultry. Through their hardships, they are able to earn enough income to maintain their household.

Sreymao, as a hard-working mother who is always dedicated to daily household chores and who pays close attention to taking care of her family members, has requested a loan to build a latrine and buy its accessories. This will help protect them from disease and keep the environment clean by releasing fewer pollutants. Sreymao is very happy and thankful because HKL has provided her a special interest rate on this loan due to its intended purpose. She awaits your kindness and relies on your generosity.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
