The “La Estancia” communal bank consists of 7 women living in Paute Canton, a place with much natural beauty with fertile soil where the most beautiful flowers and a great variety of fruit are grown; its climate is mild. Its residents like the members are kind, gracious women who strive daily to improve their economic stability to get ahead. They work doing agricultural tasks, raising animals and in commerce. Despite daily difficulties that exist, they are always smiling.

One of the members is Carla. She’s taking out her first loan with her friends and neighbors in La Estancia group; she was invited by a friend and now she’s the president of this beautiful group. She hopes that all of them together can reach their goals and dreams to provide better futures for their children.

Carla is 19-years-old and single mother of a one-and-a-half-year-old girl. She lives with her siblings and shares household expenses with them. The house is their parents’ property.

Carla has had her own business for the last 8 months. She sells food Tuesday through Sunday starting very early and continues until about 5 in the afternoon. Her aunt is her business partner. She will use the loan money to buy foodstuffs needed for her business to continue growing. Her goal is to complete high-school.

El grupo de crédito La Estancia está formado por 7 mujeres que viven en el cantón de Paute, este lugar goza de mucha belleza natural, sus tierras son fértiles en donde se cosechan las más hermosas flores al igual que una gran variedad de frutos, su clima es templado. Su gente al igual que las socias son mujeres amables y gentiles que luchan día a día para mejorar su estabilidad económica para salir adelante, trabajan en tareas del campo como la agricultura, crianza de animales y comercio, a pesar de las dificultades a diario que existen siempre se encuentran con una sonrisa.
Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señora. Carla, está realizando su primer crédito a lado de sus amigas y vecinas del grupo de crédito La Estancia y ha sido invitada por una amiga, ahora es la presidenta de este hermoso grupo, espera que todas unidas puedan realizar sus metas y sueños para brindarles un mejor futuro a sus hijos.
La Señora Carla tiene 19 años de edad, es madre soltera de una niña de un año y medio, vive con sus hermanos con quien comparte los gastos de la casa, la casa es propiedad de sus padres.
Doña Carla desde hace 8 meses tiene su propio negocio, ella vende comida para lo cual trabajan de martes a domingo desde muy temprano hasta más o menos las 5 de la tarde, en este negocio le tiene a una tía como socia.
El dinero de su crédito va a invertir en la compra de víveres que le hacen falta para su negocio y así continuar creciendo.
Su meta es terminar sus estudios colegiales.
