Mashallah D. is 50 years old and sells different supplies in a small village of the Satli region. He started his business in 2000. He is married and has 2 sons. Mashallah also works as a teacher in a local school, but his salary is too small to cover even basic family needs. His store is the main financial source for his family. Now he would like to expand his business and purchase more supplies for his store. For this purpose he applied for 1000 USD.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
