Pulotjon is a hardworking and responsible man. He has a secondary school education with some vocational training, and was born in the village of Khonobod in the Isfara region of Tajikistan. He is married and has 4 children; one of his sons is currently a migrant worker in the Russian Federation.

Pulotjon works as a driver in an industrial park for construction materials in the city of Isfara. He wants to build a home for his family and provide a comfortable life for them, but his income is scarcely enough to put food on the table, let alone set aside money to build a house. For this reason, Pulotjon has turned to Arvand for help; by choosing from the various consumer loan packages they offer, he will have the money he needs to put his plans into motion. Specifically, he plans on using the loan to buy construction materials, and would like to thank Arvand in advance for their financial assistance.

About MDO Arvand

MDO Arvand is one of the leading microfinance institutions in Tajikistan, offering small loans to entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. This makes an enormous difference in a country, which is not only the poorest in Central Asia, but also home to a population where two-thirds live below the poverty line. Today, Tajikistan's economy literally depends on remittances being sent from family members working abroad in Russia because there are so few local job opportunities.

But Arvand loans have been able to make a difference and change lives. Read about some of the incredible success stories they have seen here in this Kiva blog post: Bringing hope to Tajikistan with Arvand -- one success story at a time.
