For the last 13 years Margaret has been carrying out mixed farming activities on her farm at Nyahururu. She grows maize, wheat, potatoes and beans, and she also keeps dairy cows which produce milk to sell to her neighbors.
She has applied for her first loan of Kshs. 50,000 from Kadet Ltd which she plans to use to pay school fees for her children, to buy herbicides and to expand her mixed farming activities. The income from her expanded business will be used to buy some heifers and to buy barbed wire to fence her land.
Margaret is 44 years old, married to Stephen who is a businessman, and they are blessed with four children, ages 28, 26, 21 and 13 years old.
