Phanny is age 25 years and she has three children. Living in the rural area of Sampov Meas district of Pursat province, she has struggled to make a living through farming rice. The current business earns her about 20,000KHR per day to meet the family's needs.
This is the second micro-loan for Phanny with VisionFund. Now she is applying for another of 2,000,000KHR to buy a decent motorbike for her family to use in commuting. She hopes this loan will enable her to have decent transportation for the family.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
