Adriana María
Adriana, 33, is married with two children. Throughout her productive life, she has worked as an independent vendor. She started with a business selling fruits and it slowly grew until she had a grocery store, which is where she works now. Her business started in a rented space, but due to the positive results of her business, she was able to save and become the owner of the space. Adriana is enthusiastic and thriving. She has a hard-working mentality that has allowed her to reach her goals. Also, the support from some previous loans helped her business grow.

Therefore, Adriana is requesting her fourth loan so she can buy wholesale merchandise including coffee, grains, personal hygiene products, pastries, sweets, dairy products, and more. This will give her a wider variety of inventory so she can meet all her customers' needs and preferences. This will increase her profit margin in sales. Adriana is a dreamer and to achieve her goals, she will keep working tirelessly so that in the future, she can fulfill her dream of growing her business even more with this grocery store in the same location. This will be more profitable and she will be able to provide her children with a better education. She will also be able to provide a better quality of life to those she loves.

Important Information

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
