Syokwaa is a single woman with three school-going children. She lives in her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
She has operated a clothes-selling business for the past 20 years, selling women's, men's and children's clothes. She cites seasonality as her major challenge.
With the loan of KES 20,000 she is requesting, she wants to purchase bales of clothes for resale.She joined Yehu to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
