Susan is married with five children and four of her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She has a beauty salon and has been in this business for 10 years. She has applied for a loan of 1400000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more dryers, a washing sink, cream relaxers, braids and weaves. She generates additional income from renting rooms. She works in her shop and sells both retail and wholesale seven days out of every week.
Her major business challenges include thieves, seasonality, and on-and-off electricity. She aspires to own a big beauty salon and also to build more rental rooms. She resides in the family house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include feeding the family and school fees.
