Lamia is a 44-year-old Lebanese divorced woman living with four children, one of whom is working. She has been selling clothes from her home since 2011. Her only purpose is to help her children live in good standards. With her loan requested from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l, she will purchase clothes for the winter season in large quantities and at good prices. More items to sell will result in better profits. In the future, she hopes to be able to become the owner of a proper clothing store where she will sell women's accessories in addition.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
