Vicente is running a general store while his wife is working a a teacher. He has been in this business for more than five years as an aid to his wife's income. He borrowed a loan of 25,000 PHP from GDMPC micro credit to purchase livestock feed, rice and dried fish for sale. He plans to save a portion of his profit for future family emergencies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
