Inoyat is married and has four children. She sells livestock. She also seasonally sells rice. Her house is located near a rice field. Each year from September to November she works in the rice field with her son and husband to grow and then sell the rice. When the rice season ends she she is engaged in selling livestock until the spring. Her husband also works as a security guard at a collective farm, for seasonal work does not provide a continuous income. Inoyat and her family are planning to buy a vehicle to transport livestock, because they live far away from the city and it is difficult for them reach downtown and deliver livestock or rice. Inoyat and her family are placing her hopes on assistance from Arvand, and they will be very grateful if they can realize their plans.

This makes an enormous difference in a country, which is not only the poorest in Central Asia, but also home to a population where two-thirds live below the poverty line. Today, Tajikistan's economy literally depends on remittances being sent from family members working abroad in Russia because there are so few local job opportunities.
