Emmanuel
Emmanuel is 52 years old and lives in the town of Bulenga, in the Kampala region of Uganda. He is married and has two children who are both currently in school. For the past 30 years, Emmanuel has been working hard to manage his retail shop, in which he sells electrical items.

To help expand his business, Emmanuel has requested a loan of 2500000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more electric items to sell, and will help Emmanuel to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. Emmanuel hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his electrical shop.

Emmanuel is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Emmanuel who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
