Marina is separated, having two children with her. To make a living, she manages their own coconut farm. Lately, the farm needs fertilizer to have a better, abundant harvest. She joined GDMPC to gain access to micro finance services. Marina borrowed a loan of 20,000 PHP to purchase an organic fertilizer in order to have higher income in return. She plans to cultivate the farm this year to improve her income. In the future, she wants to see her children successful.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
