The "21 de Agosto" ("August 21") communal bank will start its eighteenth cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Santiago II regional office. It is composed of eight members and is directed by a governing board, of which Ivonne is the President. The members of the communal bank have a variety of businesses. Among them are selling rotisserie chicken, selling shoes, cleaning products, sewing suits, selling variety items, selling glass, selling bolts, and selling soft drinks.

The loan they will take out will benefit small microentrepreneurs, of which Ivonne is one. She says that twenty-four years ago she joined Pro Mujer at the invitation her friend, who is a member of the institution. Currently, she has a business selling shoes; she says that she learned this business on the recommendation of her family, who make the same products.

The loan that she will take out now is to increase capital (buy leather) that she will acquire at distribution stores, wholesale, and after production she will sell it in her stall. This kind of work allows her to generate resources to support her home as much as possible, since she is married and has four children.

When she is asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the health and training area.

La A.C. “21 DE AGOSTO” iniciará el décimo octavo ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Santiago II, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Ivonne es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de brostería, venta de calzados, productos de limpieza, costura de trajes, venta de artículos varios, venta de cristales, tienda de pernos, venta de refrescos.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Ivonne es integrante, ella indica que hace veinte y cuatro años que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de la su amiga que es socia de la institución. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de calzados; cuenta que este negocio lo emprendió por recomendación de su familia, quien realiza los mismos productos.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de cuero) que adquirirá de las tiendas distribuidoras, mayorista, y posteriormente a la elaboración lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es casada y tiene cuatro hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta el área de salud y capacitación.
