José Elías
José Elías is a 65-year old married man who lives in the community of Salales, located 20km away from the municipality of El Sauce. He lives with his wife and they both work to get ahead. They provide mill services to the inhabitants of the community. A mill is a machine used to grind the corn, which is later used to make tortillas (main supply in Nicaragua), as well as grains to make refreshments. He has two mills: one of them is electric and managed by his wife; and the other one uses fuel and is managed by him.

José Elías is currently requesting a loan to buy an engine for one of his mills. It is too expensive and he does not have enough money to cover the cost. He trusts in God and believes that Kiva lenders will support him through Ceprodel and that he will be able to make the investment.
