Zouheir is 55-year-old married man. He is from Lebanon and lives with his wife and six children who are still attending school. In 2010, he opened a cafeteria where he began providing his customers with coffee, Nescafe and cappuccino. Besides this, his wife owns a cafeteria as well, next to a university, which is just a perfect place to attract students on their breaks.
Today, Zouheir is asking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to redecorate his cafeteria and purchase coffee machinery to respond quickly to customers' demands. In the future, Zouheir hopes to expand his operation by serving sandwiches from his cafeteria.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
