The "Esperanza - 2V" communal bank is starting its fifth loan cycle with "Pro Mujer", though the VIlla Tejada regional office. The group has eight members, and is directed by a board that has Lidia as the secretary. The members have different businesses, including a dressmaking workshop, selling phones, selling trainers, a grocery store, and producing shoes.

This loan will benefit the small business entrepreneurs in Lidia's group. Lidia tells us that she joined "Pro Mujer" two years ago following an invitation from a friend who was already a member. Lidia currently has a business selling mobile phones and she says that she started this business with her husband ten years ago when she realised that this was a profitable product.

Lidia is applying for this loan to increase her working capital - she will use it to buy mobile phones from bulk sellers in the city of El Alto, before selling them on. This work has allowed Lidia to earn an income to support her family as best as possible. Lidia has a partner and they have two children.

When asked what she likes about "Pro Mujer", Lidia tells us that she likes the health and business training.

La A.C. “ESPERANZA – 2V” iniciará el quinto ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Villa Tejada, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Lidia es la Secretaria. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: taller de costura, venta de celulares, venta de tenis, tienda de barrio, elaboración de calzados.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Lidia es integrante, ella indica que hace dos años que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de la amiga que es socia de la institución. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de celulares; cuenta que este negocio lo emprendió conjuntamente su pareja, hace diez años, al observar que este producto es ampliamente comerciable.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de celulares) que adquirirá de las distribuidoras mayoristas de la Ciudad de El Alto y posteriormente lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella vive en concubinato y tiene dos hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones en crédito y salud y los consultorios.
