Neriza, aged 50, is married and has four adult children. One of her siblings works in Malaysia. She lives in Delapa, Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte. Neriza owns a parcel of rice field as one of her sources of income. Her husband earns income as a tricycle driver to sustain their daily needs. They earn a monthly income of 4500 PHP.
Neriza has requested a new loan to pay for her sibling's plane ticket back to Malaysia. Neriza has been a CUMI member of Paglaum since 2006. She wishes that everything will be successful through prayer.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
