Dorcas is a married woman with five children, two of whom attend school, and the rest are adults. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past ten years, she has operated a shop kiosk business, selling to her neighbors and passersby. Dorcas dreams of establishing a wholesale shop in the future.
With the KES 40,000, she wants to purchase sweets, biscuits, bread, milk, soft drinks, rice, beans, and cooking oil. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
