Matoe's story

Matoe is 50 years old, married and living in the community surrounding Airport in Margibi County, which is the largest producing rubber plantation in Liberia. She has six children who are between 20 and 35 years old. All of her children are living on their and don't attend grade school. For the past 29 years, she has been involved in business and currently she is selling oil, rice, soap, etc from a small provisions shop. She uses the bus most of the time to get her supplies to her shop. She likes how her customers can buy from her and she enjoys how supportive she is to her family. She learned business from other local businesswomen. She is requesting a loan to purchase more oil, rice, soap, etc. for her business. Her plan is to build a house.
