Inn, 34, lives with her husband and eight children in a rural village of the Srey Snom district, Cambodia. To feed the family, Inn and her husband grow rice on their farm. Having been in this business for 15 years, Inn earns about 44,000 KHR per day to spend on her family’s needs.
Inn has never borrowed from VisionFund before this loan. Now she is applying for a loan of 1,900,000 KHR to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She will use a portion of the loan to plow the field. Inn hopes to increase her crop yields so as to generate more income to improve her standard of living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
