Antonieta is single, and has a child. She runs a general store in the village of Gulayon, Dipolog City. She has been selling goods for more than five years. She joined GDMPC to gain access to micro finance services of the cooperative, and has borrowed a loan of 10,000 PHP to buy rice and feeds for sale, in addition to her working inventory capital. She plans to expand her business using the profit she gains from this working capital. In future, she wants to improve the general living situation of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
