Anahit is a farmer from the Kurtan village of Lori region. She lives with her husband, son and elderly pensioner mother-in-law. Anahit's husband works in the police. However, he alone cannot fully meet the family's needs. To help her husband in earning a living, Anahit is engaged in breeding a livestock of cows, pigs, piglets and hens. Anahit also cultivates wheat and potato. Anahit's son helps her greatly with selling the agricultural products in the local market. Her small agribusiness currently needs some investments. A loan of USD 3,000 will greatly improve the situation by enabling her to purchase three heifers and forage for the livestock.

As this is Anahit’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history. Anahit and her family will be very thankful to the lenders for their goodwill and support.
