A loan of $1,175 helped to buy more clothes to sell.

Hasan's story

Hasan is 36 years old and lives in the town of Kayunga in the Mukono region of Uganda. He is married and has three children, all who are currently in school. For the past five years, Hasan has been working hard to manage his boutique, which sells clothes.

To help expand his business, Hasan has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes to sell, and will help Hasan generate greater profits, expand his business, and add additional types of clothes. Hasan hopes that in the future he will be able to produce quality products.

Hasan is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Hasan who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
