Thon is 55 years old. She is married and resides with five children in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia. She has been cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than ten years, earning approximately $2 per day. Her husband is a motor taxi driver who makes an income of $4 daily. Two of her children are employed in a garment factory. They earn about $8 each day.
In order to improve her family’s finance, Thon is requesting a loan of $800 to purchase a cow to breed and produce calves to sell. By doing so, she will be able to generate more income for the family. In the future, she would like to expand her farming business and help her children earn higher educations.
