Meri is a 53-year-old woman. She lives with her husband and grandson in a small village of Martvili district. Meri has 20 hens and sells eggs. In addition, the family owns agricultural land, where nut trees are grown. Meri sells the harvested nuts seasonally.

Meri has requested a loan to purchase a cow. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo. enables her to get a loan of 1,000 GEL for purchasing a cow. As the cow is purchased, she will milk it every day and start producing dairy products to sell. This will increase the income of her family, and with increased income she will be able to improve the living conditions for her family.
