Delia lives in Balamban, Mahayag Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. She is 45 years old, married and has seven kids. In 2011, she applied for membership to Paglaum MPC. Hearing of all the benefits of being a member, she didn't hesitate to become one. She maintains herself as a credible member in good standing, and she always pays her loans in a timely manner.
Recently, she asked for a loan of PHP 23,000 for additional capital for her farming activity. She plants rice and corn. Through this project, she believes she will be able to raise more income and help the expansion of the business. Delia has found comfort in their financial needs through Paglaum MPC, for which she is very thankful with all her heart.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
