A loan of $3,675 helped a member to purchase fabric.

Los Angeles De Villa Adela Ii Group's story

The communal bank Angeles de Villa Adela II is starting its third cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of Villa Adela regional office. It comprises nine members and Juana is the President of its governing board. The members of this communal bank run a variety of businesses, including: selling food, sewing sweaters, sewing skirts, selling honey, selling sheep, selling provisions, bus assistant, selling dishes, a car repair shop.

The loan they are taking out will benefit the small microentrepreneurs in Juana's group. She says she has been a member of Pro Mujer for one year. She joined when she came to visit the regional office to find out about the services they provide. She currently has a business sewing skirts. She started her business several years ago when she learned the sewing skills from her cousins, who are in the same business.

She will use the loan she is taking out now to increase capital by purchasing fabric, which she will buy from the wholesale shops in the city of El Alto. After finishing her products she will sell them to order. This work allows her to generate resources to support her household as much as possible, since she is married and has four children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she tells us she likes the lending services we provide.
