Mohamad is a 47-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and three children who are still attending school. He has operated a bakery since 2001 where he produces pastries and bread. His store is adjacent to his house and his regular customers are his neighbors and the local community. Today, Mohamad needs to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to buy raw supplies like flour, sugar, and butter required to continue production in addition to a special baking machine. Through this opportunity, he will be able to increase sales and progressively will grow to become a very brave and efficient businessman at his location.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
