Polly is 60 years of age and a farmer who has done this since 2003. He has ten children and the youngest of the ten is aged eight years. He does his farming in a rural area of Kanyabwanga-Mitooma District and he says he started farming so that he could have a sure source of income. In addition to the money he gets from his farming business he also gets monthly pension money which supports his family a lot. He says his major clients are banana traders in his area and that he would like to use the money to buy mulch and manure so that he can have better harvests. Polly says his major challenge is the weather which changes a lot and in most cases affects the harvests negatively. He describes himself as a hardworking man who has high hopes of becoming financially stable in the future.
