Amale is a 43-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and three children, two of whom are still attending school.
She has worked as a private teacher since 2010; her business is based in her home. At the same time, and in order to earn more income, she works as an accountant at a local aluminum factory.
Today, Amale states that she needs a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to renovate the teaching room in her house and equip it with needed supplies. The school year is about to start, and Amale is trying to do her best to get ready to welcome her students at a comfortable residence to be well educated.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
