Villa is 55 years old, married, and lives at Mitazan, Aloran, Misamis Occidental. In order to earn a living she raises poultry located in their neighborhood. With a desire to earn more, she decided to increase the number of chickens.
Through Paglaum MPC, she obtained the capital to start up her poultry business. Now, she requests a loan of 14,900 PHP to purchase additional bags of feed. She really hopes and prays that her business will grow and benefit her family, in addition to the income of her husband. Someday, she wants to build a chicken cage to easily keep more sanitary conditions.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
