Sube is married with two children and resides in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, along with her family. Her husband is a farmer and she helps him in their farm planting vegetables to sell in town to make a living. She also has grown bananas on their farm. For the last five years she has earned 4,000 PHP (Philippine peso) monthly. She borrowed a loan of 7,500 PHP from GDMPC micro credit to purchase new varieties of seedlings and fertilizer. She hopes to have an abundant harvest and use the profit to improve the general living condition of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
