Hach
Originally from a rural village of the Stoeng Sen district of Kampong Thom province, Hach is a 60-year-old married mother of three children. Rice farming has been the main source of her family’s income for six years. To better support the family and earn more income, her husband works as a paid construction worker. Together, they can earn about US $17 per day to meet family’s needs and manage to save about US $5.

This is Hach's fifth loan with Kiva's partner, VisionFund. The previous loans, which she successfully paid back, have helped her to gradually sustain her living conditions as well as her business. She is currently applying for an education loan to pay tuition for her oldest son to learn driving. She sincerely hopes that this loan will enable her son to get his driver's license.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
