A rural villager in the Kandal Stoeng district, Sophorn is 29 years old and married with two daughters. To make a living, she has been farming rice as a main source of income. To gains extra income, she is a hair dresser while her husband is a truck driver. She has been in this business for five years. This is the first loan for Sophorn with Kiva's partner, VisionFund. She is now applying for a loan of 4,000,000KHR with VisionFund to buy fertilizer, insecticide and rice seed for her farming and use some portion to buy the some items for her hair salon. This loan will enable Sophorn to expand her business so as to increase family's income and provide a good education to her children.
