The couple have four children, all of whom attend school. Pierrette lives with her husband and their children. Sales stemming from her activity allows her to help her husband in supporting the diverse needs of their family. For the past five years, Pierrette has been selling condiments and staple food supplies (corn, palm oil, etc) in her region. She stocks up on materials in Benin. In order to better satisfy for customers and to increase her sales and profits, Pierrette is asking, along with the other members of the GBENONKPO group, for a loan from ALIDE. All previously received loans were successfully reimbursed.

Le groupe GBENONKPO est composé de quatre personnes qui vivent dans la même zone. C'est la sixième fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Pierrette est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Pierrette est âgée de 50 ans et est mariée à un cultivateur du nom de Hounsoutonou. Le couple a quatre enfants tous scolarisés, et vivant à leur charge. Pierrette vit ensemble avec ses enfants et son mari. Grâce aux revenus de son activité, Pierrette arrive à apporter un aide au mari dans les diverses charges du ménage. Depuis cinq ans, Pierrette vend des condiments et des vivres (maïs, huile de palme) dans sa région. Pierrette s’approvisionne au Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Pierrette sollicite, ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe GBENONKPO, un autre crédit auprès de ALIDé. Les crédits reçus antérieurement ont été bien remboursés.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
