The group has eight members and is governed by a board of directors of whom Sinforoza is the president. The members' businesses are varied and include: food sales, sweater sales, grocery sales, artesenal sweaters, cleaning, and fruit sales.
This loan will benefit these small businesses. Sinforoza says that she has been part of Pro Mujer for eight years. She joined at the invitation of a friend who is also a member. She currently has a business making and selling sweaters. She started this business several years ago and learned the technique from a technical school. She then decided to start her own workshop.
This loan is for an increase in working capital (the purchase of wool). She will buy wool from Peru and later set it up in her sales space. This work allows her to generate an income to maintain her household where possible. She is married and has one daughter.
When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replied that she likes the health training and the loans.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
