Zakia is the single mother of four children, and three of her children go to school. She doesn’t have additional family members to take care of.
She has a business selling green bananas, and she has been in this business for one year. She works at the market seven days out of every week and sells on a retail basis.
Zakia has applied for a loan of UGX 300,000 from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bunches of green bananas. Her major business challenges include transportation and seasonality. She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to build her own house.
She resides in a rented house, and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
