Ce groupe est constitué de trois personnes et dont la représentante (celle qui a la main levée sur la photo) est nommée Odette Akouavi. Les membres du groupe vivent dans le même quartier. Dans le but d’augmenter leur fonds de roulement, ce groupe sollicite pour la première fois, un crédit auprès de ALIDé. Âgée de 35 ans, Odette Akouavi est mariée à un coiffeur du nom de Clément. Le couple a deux enfants, tous à leur charge. La famille vit ensemble. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges familiales. Odette Akouavi n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Il y a environs huit ans, Odette Akouavi mène comme activité la vente de « Moyo » (aliment local fait à base d’amidon de maïs accompagné de sauce de tomate aux poissons) dans une ville du Bénin. Odette Akouavi s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Ce premier prêt permettra certainement à Odette Akouavi et à son groupe de rehausser le niveau de leur activité et d’accroître leur clientèle et leur revenu.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
